Who are the LTA?
The Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) is the governing body for British Tennis. They are responsible for national and regional marketing campaigns for tennis clubs and tennis courts and it's objective is to get more people playing tennis more often in Great Britain.
Starting with solely Cannon Hill Park, we were challenged to provide the club with an online presence that communicated their fun personality and embodied the spirit of the sport. We were keen to cover both online and offline methods and quickly evaluated which avenues would be the most beneficial for the club.
After gaining an understanding of the club's needs, we quickly set about building a website that effectively communicated their objectives and provided a valuable user experience for anyone using the site.
We also understood that a good portion of the general public didn't have a knowledge of how many venues there are in their local area to play tennis. Therefore, we also created branded boards and signage for the club to display outside their grounds, to attract people to visit and play.
Since then, we have undertaken the delivery of digital marketing training workshops in 8 locations around the Midlands. Following this, we were tasked with producing and editing Facebook tutorial videos to be distributed to the clubs that attended the workshops, to help them put their skills learned into practice.
Last year, we ran a Halloween-themed campaign across social media, Google Advertising and email, called Spooktacular which looked to encourage families to attend an open day in participating clubs and play tennis in fancy dress. The Spooktacular campaign ran for nearly 3 weeks and saw a conversion rate of 8.62%, which meant that the campaign was successful overall.
To take advantage of the community nature of the platform we created an advert on Facebook. To increase engagement we utilised the carousel feature, which meant that we were able to use multiple images within one advert, highly targeting demographics and location. We also targeted people based on their interests, which meant that we could make sure that people who may already be interested in tennis could hear about the Spooktacular event.
